Nothing can stop me from enjoying Halloween! And if I don’t dress up at least a couple of times each year, then I consider it a failed Halloween. This year I dressed up just twice.
The first occasion to dress up was for a 30 minute video conference meeting at work. And I went all-out with a dragon-themed costume. This is a costume I created a couple years ago. The scale armor pieces are linked together like chainmail, and took FOREVER to put together. The headpiece didn’t take as long, since I make those types of headpieces all the time (not so much now as I did before, but you can check out my lingering stock of items at my Etsy shop: Beasley’s Wonders). The thigh dagger is a divers dagger that I embellished. It’s actually a really sharp dagger…so you better not mess with me! And you can see my dragon friend on my shoulder in one of these photos (his shoulder perch doesn’t go with this outfit, so he slides right off my shoulder with the slippery scale armor. But we wanted to make an appearance). His name is Nightmare Bob (technically, it’s Nightmare Boob on his birth certificate. But he doesn’t like telling people that). I adopted him at the Arizona Renaissance Festival, and he’s just the sweetest thing!
My second chance to dress up for Halloween 2020 was Halloween evening, when I went to a friends house to hang out (she is my quarantine ‘pod’, so we get to hang out mask-free cause we really don’t see anyone else). Since she was dressing up her 7 month old baby as a bear, and she and her husband were going to be ‘Mama Bear’ and ‘Papa Bear’, I decided to crash in on their group costume, and came over dressed as Goldilocks! I’m not going to post their picture to offer them privacy, but here is my Goldilocks outfit!
