Tis the Season For Holiday Romance Movies

My sister Nikki and I love to watch those uber cheesy, predictable Christmas romance movies. Not only is it fun to make fun of them and predict every little decision, but they are so full of holiday decorations and cheer, that it gets me in the holiday spirit! So they may not be the best plotlines. Or have the best acting. But we love them nonetheless!

A Christmas Movie Christmas

Where to watch: Hulu

What we loved: the sarcasm and the fact that it was meant to be a cheesy Christmas romance movie. That was the whole point! And they nailed it. Completely sappy and predictable!

What we didn’t love: over-the-top puppy man

Was it predictable? Completely!

The Holiday Calendar

Where to watch: Netflix

What we loved: The characters were cute. Very bright and Christmassy

What we didn’t love: would have loved to see a little more magic from the calendar

Was it predictable? Of course it was!

Operation Christmas Drop

Where to watch: Netflix

What we loved: Snarky main character

What we didn’t love: Kato (main male character is Kato in the Hunger Games. If you are unfamiliar, just know he is not a nice character). The inevitable breaking point at the 2/3 mark of the movie was very weak and made the characters look stupid.

Was it predictable? We 100% guessed everything that was going to happen!

The Knight Before Christmas

Where to watch: Netflix

What we loved: Gorgeous Christmas decor and lots of snow. And who doesn’t love a Knight in Shining Armor?

We we didn’t love: The Knight picked up on modern life waaaaay too easy.

Was it predictable? The most predictable it can be!

A Cinderella Story Christmas Wish

Where to watch: Netflix

What we loved: Gorgeous Christmas décor and upbeat attitudes. Love a fairytale spin-off

We we didn’t love: Everything went too smoothly, would have liked a little more struggle in winning the happily-ever-after

Was it predictable? It’s Cinderella and nothing more

A Princess for Christmas

Where to watch: Netflix

What we loved: Castles are always fun

We we didn’t love: The Americans with British accents. “How can you have Christmas without a Christmas tree?” Trees are important, but you can have Christmas without a tree. Honestly, I couldn’t pay attention. Awkward dancing. Undeveloped characters. And I couldn’t stop seeing the main character as Morgana (from the Merlin TV series), since I guess she can only play herself.

Was it predictable? Do we even need to answer this? Do you really think she’s only a princess for Christmas, and not forever? We’ll let you find out yourself!
