The small team of holiday movie reviewers is here for another year of cheesy Christmas romance movies! We will throw in a few non-romance movies here and there, but we love the romances best of all!
The movies we choose are random, from different networks (though mostly from Netflix since they have a great selection). Not all will be new releases, and we will keep adding our ratings all month long to this post! They are scored on a Candy Cane rating out of 5. Read on to see if any movies made it to the coveted 5 Candy Cane Rating!

Without further ado, here are the movie reviews from our 2022 Holiday Movie picks!

Christmas With You

Where to watch: Netflix
Movie Description: Seeking inspiration for a hit holiday song, a pop star grants a young fan’s Christmas wish to meet her — and finds a shot at true love along the way.
Starring: Aimee Garcia, Freddie Prinze Jr., Deja Monique Cruz
What we loved: Freddy Prinze Jr.! A heartthrob of our generation. He may be getting a bit older, but he’s still a handsome man. The storyline was good, characters were somewhat relatable, and a few good laughs were had. Our favorite character was the best friend. Lots of Christmas decorations.
What we didn’t love: Characters could have been more developed. Main character couldn’t sing.
Was it predictable? Of course it was!

Christmas on Mistletoe Farm

Where to watch: Netflix
Movie Description: After inheriting a farm at Christmastime, a widowed father makes a bumpy adjustment to village life — while his kids hatch a plan to stay there forever.
Starring: Scott Garnham, Scott Paige, Kathryn Drysdale
What we loved: It’s family-friendly. The kids were pretty cute.
What we didn’t love: We wanted to punch the dad in the face the whole time. We get that it’s stressful raising five kids, but like, can you be a little nicer? We also docked off points for unrealistic farm-animal births (why are they cute and fuzzy and not all goopy!?). The romance was ridiculously lousy and made no sense.
Was it predictable? Yes, very much so.

The Noelle Diary

Where to watch: Netflix
Movie Description: Cleaning out his childhood home at Christmas, a novelist meets a woman searching for her birth mother. Will an old diary unlock their pasts — and hearts?
Starring: Justin Hartley, Barrett Doss, Essence Atkins
What we loved: Great characters that seemed very realistic. Witty conversation. A cute dog. This one is a must-watch and earned a nearly full Candy Cane rating! Warning: it may make you cry, but I may just be pms’ing 😀
What we didn’t love: The tears (ours). And a moment of ‘well that escalated quickly’
Was it predictable? Yes and no. It had more storyline than a usual rom-com.

The Santa Clauses

Where to watch: Disney +
Movie Description: Scott Calvin is about to turn 65 and, realizing he can’t be Santa forever, sets out to find a suitable replacement Santa while preparing his family for a new adventure in life south of the pole.
Starring: Tim Allen, Rupali Redd, Isabella Bennett
What we loved: Nostalgic, since we grew up watching The Santa Clause. The Christmas decorations could not be more Christmas-y! The girl boss elf is our favorite.
What we didn’t love: There are many annoying characters with over-done personalities.
Was it predictable? Only three episodes in, so not sure yet!

I really loved what you had to say, and more than that, how you presented it.
